Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1
Samsung has finally unveiled the long rumored 200MP ISOCELL camera sensor The ISOCELL HP1 is the company’s (and the world’s) first 200MP smartphone camera sensor. It features a dynamic pixel binning technology that adjusts the output resolution depending on the ambient light for optimum results. The company also unveiled the ISOCELL GN5, a slim 50MP camera sensor for smartphones.
The ISOCELL HP1 is a 1/1.22-inch 200MP sensor with a native pixel size of 0.64μm. Based on the lighting situation, its all-new ChameleonCell technology offers full-pixel rendering, 2×2 pixel binning, or 4×4 pixel binning. In 2×2 pixel binning mode, the sensor offers 50MP images with 1.28µm pixels. In 4×4 pixel binning mode, the ISOCELL HP1 offers 12.5MP images with 2.65μm pixel size. The sensor also supports 8K video recording at 30fps, 4K video recording at 120fps, and a fairly wide field of view. The company hasn’t revealed which autofocus technology is used in this sensor.
